The $699 graphics card promises 35% faster performance than the GTX 1080, and "is even faster in games" than the Titan X, according to NVIDIA.Spec-wise, the card is pretty beastly, with 11 GB GDDR5X memory, 3584 CUDA cores and a 1582 MHz boost clock. For comparison, the $1200 Titan X has 12 GB GDDR5X, the same 3584 CUDA cores, and a boost clock of 1531 MHz. Both cards gobble up 250 watts of power. As far as real-world testing is concerned, the page for the GPU compares its performance to the company's own GTX 980, showing performance upgrades better than double, and even triple in some cases. However, it's a little misleading. While the GTX 980 is a great GPU, it's nowhere near the level of the 1080 Ti, and was already beaten by NVIDIA's own 10 series cards, so it's more of a comparison for dramatic effect.
It seems to be that we have gotten Christmas very early this year thanks to the evga team releasing a new FTW 1080.The new card looks phenomenal with a redesigned backplate that isn't for the looks but for heat dissipation because if you remember late last year the original FTW cards were notorious for overheating and supposedly in some incidents even caught on fire. Now it's not only the new backplate it's also there new icx Cooler which has been keeping the card cooler than the original FTW with the acx3.0 cooler. So if you looking to buy a 1080 from EVGA get the FTW 2 for the fact that it would keep the card cooler and you wont need to worry about your graphics card exploding.
Starship Technologies, a company that was founded by Skype cofounders Janus Friis and Ahti Heinla in 2014 are developing a self-driving robotic delivery vehicle that will be used for relatively short-range local delivery.
The electric-powered rovers drive on sidewalks at a pedestrian speed of 6 km/h and can be remote controlled if autonomous operation fails. The robots themselves are equipped with a sensor suite that includes cameras, GPS and IMU, possibly other sensory tools but notably no LIDAR. The robot will have microphones, and speakers, so they can communicate with humans they meet. Starship Technologies plans to launch pilot services in 2016, in the US and the UK among other countries, with commercial service starting in 2017.
On test day, the Starship company will have an employee monitoring the robot to ensure the safety of the robot and its contents. For the lucky crowds who get to observe this hilarious spectacle may bear a resemblance to a parent following their toddler as it learns how to walk, the parent ready to save the little tyke from tripping and crying.
The company's first two U.S. customers will be Postmates and DoorDash, but their product is already pretty street savvy. The Starship baby has already been tested in the U.K., Germany, and Switzerland, where it has delivered food orders, groceries, and parcels. As of November 2016, the bot had over 12,000 miles under its belt (or under its wheels, if you will).
Despite its 4 mph speed, the robot actually sounds pretty high-tech, according to an Ars Technica story from late 2016. It has “nine cameras, a 360-degree ultrasonic sensor array, and an Nvidia Tegra K1 processor” to take in its surroundings, map the environment and avoid obstacles. And its navigation system is reportedly more precise (by 1.5 meters) than “the best non-military GPS receivers” out there.
According to Postmates' senior vp Holger Luedorf, customers will not be asked to pay extra for the privilege of a robotic delivery--at least for now. "We are treating these robots just like any other Postmates carrier," Luedorf says.
It seems to be that NVidia is actually succeeding in making a word for them with there founders edition cards. Even though they are not the best at cooling and performance but they look so beautiful and are very useful in certain situations such as in very space saving small form factor computers. With the growth of the DIY pc community it was a major boost of the company’s profit because some people trust the oem more and not the ad and board partners. Another thing is the card looks better than most of the ad and boards partners have realease. So it looks like even though its more expensive than their partners people prefer to get the founders card and put them into there pc builds.
Asus's new monitor is beautiful. The ROG comes offering multiple of features to make sure that all your games will run as smoothly as possible. The new 24.5-inch Swift PG258Q monitor offers a refresh rate of 240Hz and a 1ms response time. It will come at a very expensive price tag but will be future proof for longer than any other. This is all the info I can find now and will update it sooner.
Overclocking. Something every pc gamer has wants to do but can’t is in for a very sweet surprise. To overclock you would usually need an unlocked i5 or i7 processors which cost $250+ but not anymore intel has released its new kay lake and has heard the people by adding in there line up an unlocked i3 processor. Intel has never released an unlocked i3 processor which made people have to for up the extra money for the unlocked i5 processor which can be hard for certain people making literarily re-work there whole entire build to be able to afford it but with this they don’t need to do this anymore because we now have the i3-7350k. Coming in at around $170 it comes equipped with 2 cores that gets tricked and makes the cpu think it’s a quad-core, a base frequency of 4.20 GHz, 4MB of cache and a bus speed of 8 GT/s this makes it a very good choice if your into to the whole overclocking scene. Compared to the i5-6600k the i3 has less wattage needed which means that even when overclocked the cpu will be cooler than the i5-6600k overclocked. Versus the i5 in adobe premiere pro the i3 rendered a 5 minute 4k video in 16:13 minutes while the i5 was faster at 11:18 minutes. Now the i5 can out perform the i3 because it is a better cpu but the topic at hand is budget. With this you can easily run most games at medium to high settings with a decent fps but the amazing thing is the price because its cheaper which makes it better for people on a budget. I recommended if u can to get the i5 but if on a budget for get the i3 because its significantly cheaper. -Devin Garciga
It finally looks like intel is getting a run for its money as we get closer and closer to the release of Amd's Rhyzen processor's. As we know intel has been at the top with there processors and especially since there the only ones with high end processors but as we get closer to the release of the new Amd Rhyzen processor it looks like Amd will make there statement of them being there and they arent backing down. The new Rhyzen processor looks to be an equivalent or maybe even be a bit better than Intel i7-6900k. The new Rhyzen processor is clocked at a base clock of 3.4MHz while the boast clock is still unknown and has 16 threads. For this to release it will make sure it wont take 1k plus just for a processor and more around atleast $700~ which is more releasitic of people spending that amount (with the cpu being the most expensive at probably around $500ish but still way cheaper than the 6900k at $1000). So if you are trying to upgrade your pc or even a new build I recommened waiting for the release of the new rhyzen processor's before you do anything.
